Brambly with dark olive hues complemented by hints of burnt oranges. This has an expressive nose on the darker end of the spectrum. On the palate, it’s fresh and incisive with supple tannins. The fruity finish is refreshing, enveloping and enjoyable. Aged for eight months in clay amphora.

This is a no-sulfur wine that shows very pretty brightness and tanginess to the dark-fruit and dried-citrus character. It’s fruity and flavorful with blackberries and orange peel and a long, flavorful finish. Fun and energetic. Top quality. Made in amphora.

Freshness is the key word for this pristine malbec that shows sour cherries, fresh mulberries, herbs, black pepper, graphite and hot stone. Medium-body on the palate with fresh, firm tannins from the fruit. Succulent, with lots of intrinsic charm from the pure fruit. Made in amphorae.

This is a selection from Catena's historic vineyard, Finca Angelica, on the banks of the Mendoza River in the Lunlunta area, at an altitude of about 920 meters. And it has the character of the wines from that place, the succulence of the texture, the aromas of violets and ripe red fruits, the sensation of depth and sweetness, the very soft tannins, as if they were round. And the finish that leaves a sweet and friendly sensation of fruits and flowers. A classic that is aged for about eight months in clay amphorae and has not been aged in barrels.

La Marchigiana is Catina's respectful look to the past, fermenting indigenous criolla in clay pots. Though the amphora here was brought over from Italy by Nicola Catena, Chile has a long ancestry with clay pot wine aging dating back to the 16th century. The label is also historical, dating back to when Nicola (before he changed his name to Argentinian Nicolás) sold barrels of wine to Buenos Aires' finest restaurants. This rosé of criolla, from Finca La Vendimia, spent 250+ days on skins in the pots before bottling, sulphite free. Light/moderate crimson-hued, this presents more a lighter red than the rosé label states. Pomegranate, raspberry, wild herbal thorns, and fragrant dried wildflowers are lifted and buoyant on the slight palate, kissed with ample fine mineral salts and wrung with whisper fine tannins across a saline finish. Very distinct and quite charming, ideally with a light chill.

The dark purple 2021 La Marchigiana Malbec is young, primary and clean with varietal aromas of violet and wild berries, juicy and fresh, with moderate ripeness and 13.9% alcohol, dry, clean and with a medium-bodied palate and fine tannins. One could say this had added sulfur, as it's precise and clean. 6,000 bottles were filled in November 2021 after spending eight months in clay pots.

A malbec full of fruits with aromas of flowers and a very friendly texture, rich in smooth, round tannins and a mild sweetness. This comes from the traditional Angélica Vineyard beside the Mendoza River in Lunlunta.
