Antonio Galloni, Août 2023 (Millésime 2021)

The 2021 Chianti Classico NonLoSò is superb. Dark, pliant and super-expressive, this pure Sangiovese Chianti Classico marries textural depth and energy to great effect. Dark cherry, plum, spice, leather and menthol open in the glass, but with great reluctance. This is a superb showing, especially for a wine that was just bottled!

Septembre 2023 (Millésime 2021)

This wine's name means "I don't know" in English. Made with Sangiovese, the Jurij Fiore & Figlia 2021 Chianti Classico Lamole Nonlosò offers a crisp and linear expression with wild berry, blue flower, earth and crushed stone. The wine ages in oak for 18 months, but you'd hardly know it given the bright primary intensity and punchy clarity of the fruit at hand. The Nonlosò has cooling acidity, menthol notes and silky tannins. This is a tiny production of 558 bottles.

Michaela Morris, Février 2024 (Millésime 2021)

Reaching almost 600 metres above sea level, the west-facing, terraced vineyard was planted in 2008 and yields a low 25hl/ha. Refined in equal proportions of stainless steel, new and second-use barrels, this is the fullest and densest fruit of Jurij Fiore’s Lamole bottlings – yet still isn’t huge. Initial oak notes of mint, nutmeg and toast morph into cedar-inflected cherry and strawberry. There is a lashing of vanillin on the palate, and the tannins are chewy and just a bit dry, but then zesty acidity and a bitter chinotto note kick in and it finishes fresh and feisty.
