About this winery
Jurij Fiore is best known for the wines he has made alongside his father, Vittore, for years at the family’s Poggio Scalette property in the Greve village of Chianti Classico. Several years ago, Jurij started restoring old vineyards in Lamole, one of the newly appointed UGA’s (Unità Geografiche Aggiuntive, or Additional Geographical Units) in Chianti Classico. Production notes
A blend of Chardonnay, Trebbiano, Malvasia and Famoso from the Castelo area of Lamole. The sandy, silty hillside vineyards are 550 metres above sea level and face north. The hand-picked grapes are fermented in 228 itr pièce (Burgundy barrels) and aged in a mix of old and new 228 ltr pièce and stainless steel for 10 months before bottling.
