Production notes

20-day maceration at 28-30°C, and malolactic fermentation in steel. Maturation for 36 months in 500 liter French oak barrels and in 60 hl Slavonian oak, followed by a further 12 months in the bottle.

Tasting notes

Deep ruby red. Offers up aromas of well-ripened wild berries, blackberry preserves, tobacco leaf, and tanned leather. An expansive, generous palate displays a rich mouthfeel, developing into a lengthy finale marked by fruit liqueur. Pairs perfectly with a wide range of meats, particularly game and boar, and with aged pecorino cheese.

September 2024 (Vintage 2020)

Overt, smoky style, with bright red cherries, licorice and a whiff of the Mediterranean. Refined, medium- to full-bodied palate with a tight-knit structure between fruit and acidity and velvety tannins. Good, savory aftertaste.

June 2025 (Vintage 2020)

Menthol, eucalyptus, leather, cherry, plum and earth flavors gather in this fluid red. Solidly built, with assertive tannins and a lingering finish. There's also a touch of oak spice. Just a bit compact in the end.

November 2023 (Vintage 2020)

Crushed black raspberries are lifted by sage, sweet lavender and hints of split pine as the 2020 Brunello di Montalcino blossoms in the glass. Soft and juicy in style, this possesses a core of ripe primary fruit and tactile mineral tones motivated by tantalizing acidity. Hits of blood orange come together with violet inner florals and earth tones as this finishes long, structured and staining yet displays a lovely balance.
