Production notes

20-day maceration at 28-30°C, and malolactic fermentation in steel. Maturation for 36 months in 500 liter French oak barrels and in 60 hl Slavonian oak, followed by a further 12 months in the bottle.

Tasting notes

Deep ruby red. Offers up aromas of well-ripened wild berries, blackberry preserves, tobacco leaf, and tanned leather. An expansive, generous palate displays a rich mouthfeel, developing into a lengthy finale marked by fruit liqueur. Pairs perfectly with a wide range of meats, particularly game and boar, and with aged pecorino cheese.

July 2025 (Vintage 2019)

Deeply savory and earthy on the nose, with damp soil, old leather, crushed wild herbs and then black cherries that roll onto the rich, indulgent palate, where they meet figs, dark chocolate, wild mint and the delicate licorice perfume of sambuca flower. Thick, looming tannins are lifted by acid through a long finish

June 2024 (Vintage 2019)

There's an exotic boysenberry note to the fruit in this red, along with flavors of raspberry and kirsch, shaded by eucalyptus and wild rosemary, plus a chalky mineral element. Yet this remains slightly austere, with dense, linear tannins leaving a grip on the finish.

September 2023 (Vintage 2019)

Aromas of blackberries, flint and matchstick. Medium body with firm, silky tannins and a lightly chewy finish. Structured and polished. Juicy at the end.
